About Max
Over the years our family has had the fortune to have wonderful pets. We have had more Rhodesian Ridgebacks in the past and they are a splendid and majestic breed. Today, we are delighted to have another wonderful Rhodesian Ridgeback called Max. He is a true member of our family. He is a very happy, friendly, charismatic and charming dog who is a real member of our family and a pleasure to have around. He really loves people and is very friendly when people come around to visit. Even outside, when we go for walks, he is always by our side curiously checking the surroundings. He is also very obedient which is really great because his curiosity never ends and he is always trying to discover new things and places. Fortunately, it is easy to call him back when needed.
Going for walks is not always enough for him so we often take him out for excursions with our mountain bikes into the surrounding countryside where we live, close to the city of Bratislava. He can hardly wait to go on excursions with me and my wife when I put his collar on.

His stamina is really impressive, his agile body and speed is really impressive to watch, especially at high sprinting speeds when he is running and playing with other dogs, you can see his dynamic and symmetric movement interacting together in complete harmony and stability.
At home he is always by our side. He needs to be everywhere where we are. We even take him with us to go shopping, go for a cup of coffee, to the restaurant or just to go for a walk in Bratislava city centre. Simply put, he is a dog for every occasion.
We love him for who he is, a wonderful and loving family member and companion.

Max's parents

I imported Lena from Russia at the beginning of 2015 from the well-known kennel PODAROK IZ AFRIKI and she came into my life like a hurricane. She was everywhere, she was interested in everything and wanted to explore everything.
From her parents she inherited amazingly friendly and non-conflict nature, but also a desire to work. I can do anything with Lena. She is the perfect companion who will go on a hike in the forest and, if necessary, relax with me at home. She doesn't care if it rains, snows or it´s sunny. The main thing is that she doesn't want to be left alone at home.
We tried agility, obedience, shows and had fun learning different tricks together and also commands that serve no purpose, but we both enjoy it. When she sees that I am taking treats, she is immediately ready to work, for 1000%.
Like every ridgeback, she loves nature and trips, whether in winter or summer. I really appreciate that she doesn't hunt and is revocable in every situation. For her, contact with me is a priority.
She is friendly with other dogs and doesn't like conflicts. If a dog doesn't want to play with her and makes it clear, she prefers to back out of the situation herself.
Lena had 2 very nice litters and 11 puppies were born in each. She was a great mother who brought her babies into the world without any problems and later took excellent care of them. Lena is a rewarding dog and I am happy that she is in my life.

Bowie is a very active Ridgeback, he would love to go on walks all day and doesn't care if it is raining or snowing or if the sun is shining. He loves all dogs, big or small, old or young, neutered or not. Bowie avoids conflict and trouble. When other dogs quarrel, he tries to deescalate the conflict in his easy-going way. He is a Ridgeback just as they are described in the breed standard: "Dignified, intelligent, aloof with strangers, but showing no aggression or shyness".
Bowie is a passionate hunter, but also an equally enthusiastic pulling dog. He really loves to run (probably due to his name) and is happy if we put him in front of the bike or the scooter – as long as he can run. But most of all he loves running on the racing and lure coursing tracks.
At home, he is a true couch potato by contrast. You wouldn't even know he is there most of the time unless he needs to express his opinion that it is time for something to eat.
Dog shows are another great passion we share. For me, showing a dog is collaboration and cooperation between human and dog. The secret of a great presentation is good team work between Bowie and I and ongoing training. Seeing our training recognized and rewarded is even better. Thanks to his excellent conformation and his obvious joy about doing something with me, Bowie is quite often one of the front runners. Showing him is an absolute delight.
Conclusion: Bowie is the perfect companion in all situations and it is a pleasure to both live and work with him and present him in the show ring.
